Election Prayer
by Servant of God, Father John Anthony Hardon, S.J.
Lord Jesus Christ, You told us to give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and to God what belongs to God. Enlighten the minds of our people in America. May we choose a President of the United States, and other government officials, according to Your Divine Will. Give our citizens the courage to choose leaders of our nation who respect the sanctity of unborn human life, the sanctity of marriage, the sanctity of marital relations, the sanctity of the family, and the sanctity of the aging. Grant us the wisdom to give You, what belongs to You, our God. If we do this, as a nation, we are confident You will give us an abundance of Your blessings through our elected leaders. Amen.

…"If My people who bear My name, humble themselves and pray and seek My presence and turn from their wicked ways, I Myself will hear from Heaven and forgive their sins…"

"You will see that in prayer you will find more knowledge, more light, more strength, more grace and virtue than you could ever achieve by reading many books, or by great studies. Never consider as wasted the time you spend in prayer. You will discover that in prayer God communicates to you the light, strength and grace you need…"

Prayer for the Supreme Court and the Nation
Heavenly Father, we praise You for Your unchanging truth, holiness, righteousness, mercy and grace. You have given us a nation founded upon the principles of Your word. You have blessed us, but we have squandered Your grace and turned away from Your principles. So we come to You to plead for our nation. Specifically, we pray for the pending Supreme Court decision on same sex marriage. We pray that next week the Court would not impose a false definition of marriage on our nation. Father, we confess that we in the Church have already sinned against You and have not been good stewards of the gift of marriage through our own issues with unfaithfulness, selfishness, pornography, homosexuality and divorce. Forgive us, Lord. Now our nation is following our imperfect example and seeks to redefine and corrupt the gift of marriage in order to satisfy its own lusts. We acknowledge that through Jesus Christ we can repent and turn to You. So help the people of this nation to turn to You with repentant hearts, that we all may be covered in Your grace. Lord, have mercy on us. Lord, let Your purity and truth shine in this situation. Help us to proclaim to those enslaved by homosexuality, and any other sin, that liberty and identity is available in Jesus Christ. Help us to lovingly embrace the repentant. Fill us with Your Spirit so that our thoughts, words and actions reflect Your love and not our judgment. Help us to trust in Your plan, and to act justly throughout it. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Savior. Amen.
God is faithful to His Word and shall accomplish that which He has spoken. (Isaiah 55:11)
THE TIME
by Sue Gorski
A man I met a while ago
Couldn’t believe I was prolife
He thought abortion was a necessity
Since immorality got him his wives
You see, over time there were two
And neither had he intention to marry
But they each conceived out of wedlock
And he felt compelled to the contrary
Now on his second divorce, he said
Abortion would solve the issue of abuse
How can that be, I inquired of him
Since murder has no excuse
I explained that people abuse others
When they have no respect for life
Abortion is legalized murder
And is the cause of all life denied
Just because it is legalized
Doesn’t make it morally right
Slavery was once equally legal
An abomination in God’s sight
People cry out about abusing animals
They think it evil and cruel
But when it comes to human children
They think people who have them are fools
If we have no qualm about killing a child
In the safest place he may ever be
What would prevent us from destroying
Any animal, plant or tree
People don’t understand the consequence
They like to believe the lies
They think they should sleep around
But a child would inconvenience their lives
To Satan we sacrifice our next generation
Upon the altar of selfish disdain
We then wonder why we wander
In all darkness, forever we will remain
Immorality must come to an end
If we, as a people, are to survive
We must hurry to throw off our arrogance
Before we run out of time.
